Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

We as women all have a vivacious vixen brewing right underneath the surface. Through our life experiences somehow that voice that we use to trust in leading us, got lost in translation. Your ego is definitely not your amigo, it is the root to most of the things that hold you back in your life. I want to encourage everyone that is reading this blog to step out of their comfort zone. I know that it can be scary to leave the safety of what you know and step out into the unknown. After all, every time that you’re about to try something new, the voice in your head—also known as your ego—begins with all the reasons you shouldn’t. That’s when an alter ego can come to the rescue. when the ego says its too scary , the alter ego steps in and tells that voice to shut the (beep) up! Inside all of us is a self that is limitless, free and yearns to be brave.

Your alter-ego isn’t somebody else—it’s you. But it’s a part of you that you don’t normally allow yourself access to.

Your alter ego can help you get out of your own way. It can show you who you could be.

Here’s how to create your own alter ego:

1. Determine why you want an alter ego.

It could be as simple as a pen name or as complex as a completely different persona.

2. Figure out the personality of your alter ego.

Does he or she show up as a super-sized, more confident version of yourself? Does she let go of conventions and embrace her sexuality ?

3. Write your alter ego’s origin story.

Give it a story, an origin! How did it come about? what does it represent? Your alter-ego must be different from who you are.

4. Pick a name.

Lola was mine! She represents the unconventional side of myself. She exudes a sexuality that can be intoxicating and embraces without fear. She is brave and stands up for what she believes. She is more open and comfortable in her skin, she takes chances she normally wouldn’t.

5. Be different.

You and your alter ego should be the ultimate paradox. From the name to appearance, quirky personality traits and idiosyncrasies. When done well, the alter ego should be a walking, talking contradiction.

I truly believe that every person has it within them to be the version of themselves they yearn to be. An alter ego may be the easiest or most fun method of shifting your mindset and creating a life you love. Don’t be afraid to create a character that helps you overcome doubts and fears that are preventing you from living your best life.

Love,

Lola
